WHAT'S INSIDE

The 200 year old Burtner House has 5 fully furnished rooms with an attic and basement. The rooms feature period furniture that may have at one time been original to the house. There are many pictures and artifacts to view that are from the 4 generations for Burtner family members who have lived in the house.

WHAT'S OUTSIDE

Springhouse – We rebuilt the springhouse to appear as it did when the house was completed in 1821. You can view the workings of the springhouse where produce and meats were kept cold and where the Burtner family would draw water for cooking and drinking. You may even see a surprise addition you might not have thought would be in the springhouse!

annual strawberry festival

The Strawberry Festival is over 45 years old and is a celebration of summer where people tour the house and grounds and enjoy homemade foods from our summer kitchen, topped off with our Strawberry Shortcakes and ice cream. We have many crafters selling handmade goods, as well as some local authors. Civil War re-enactors from both the Blue and the Grey are present with firing demonstrations and talks about their live encampments geared towards how the soldiers lived during the war. Our Abraham Lincoln impersonator is second to none. We have our authentic Indian TeePee for kids and adults alike to visit.
